Watering hole bWith an unusually dry spell of what is known as the ‘rainy’ month of March here in the Serengeti, the animals’ search¬† for water became more challenging day by day. As a result, our Lodge’s watering hole, just metres from our infinity pool, became one of the busiest sites in the Serengeti for a period of more than 10 days!

From elephants and wildebeest to zebras, gazelles and even lions, there was a constant flow of activity, with all wildlife keen to quench their thirst as they awaited the rains, which finally came at the end of the month,  moving the migration back down to the southern plains.

To experience our front row seat of this incredible activity, view our timelapse video here from 20 March, 2015.
