When surrounded by such spectacular wildlife and nature at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, it can be easy to forget the many varied regions the National Park has to offer. To help guests best plan their stay, our expert driver guides have created itineraries for some of their favourite full day excursions to allow you  to see even more of Serengeti and the broader Tanzania region during your stay. These game drives include:

Gong RockMoru  Kopjes, Gong Rock & Maasai Rock Paintings

Join one of our expert driver-guides and one of the Discovery Centre’s Maasai, on a three-quarter day safari to the southwest Moru Kopjes-area of the Serengeti. In addition to showing you beautiful scenery, and perhaps the chance to spot one of the elusive Black Rhinos that inhabit this area, your guide & Maasai escort will also explain about the history and cultural significance of Gong Rock and the Rock Paintings. This activity is seasonal, as the area may not be accessible during parts of the green seasons – please check to confirm.

Full-day Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Join one of our expert driver-guides on a full-day adventure to the world’s largest inactive, volcanic caldera. The Crater offers some of the best game-viewing in Africa and the chance to spot an elusive Black Rhino. You will drive across the Serengeti Plains, and past Maasai villages and Olduvai Gorge. To allow you to spend the whole day away from the Lodge, you will be provided with a delicious picnic lunch. This safari requires an early departure from the Lodge and involves a full day of driving from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. It is also possible to arrange a safari to the Ngorongoro Crater that combines flying and driving, cutting down on travel time – please enquire for details.

Day Trip to Lake Victoria

Head off on a full day’s adventure to the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Game-drive through the Park’s Western Corridor, to the Eastern shores of the Lake, passing wildlife and villages along the way. Enjoy lunch by the lakeside, and if you choose, visit a local village and school and take a short dugout canoe ride along the edge of the Lake before returning to the Lodge late afternoon. To allow you to spend the whole day away from the Lodge, you will be provided with a delicious picnic lunch. This activity is seasonal, as the game drive may not have an abundance of wildlife during parts of the dry season – please check to confirm.
