Swapping the paradise shores of Desroches Island in Seychelles for his first safari adventure, we are pleased to welcome our new Head Pastry Chef Sandeep Semwal to our culinary team here at Four Seasons Safari Lodge.
Hailing from India, Sandeep has spent the last five years living in the heart of the Indian Ocean, prior to which he had worked in a number of pastry chef positions for hotels around the world. Commenting on his appointment, Sandeep says: “I am thrilled to be joining Four Seasons, especially in a destination as spectacular as the Serengeti. Each day is a new opportunity to view incredible wildlife sightings – right on our doorstep. It is a pleasure to be able to bring my expertise to the Lodge and I am looking forward to introducing many new menu items to showcase my dishes.”
As much as possible, Sandeep likes to incorporate local flavours and to see how he can complement recipes with spices, fruit and chocolate. Some of his first introductions to the menus of Maji Bar and Boma Grill will be fried chocolates, pineapple carpaccio and coconut nougat.More posts from March 2016
