Adding to the culinary team at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, we have recently welcomed Bir Kumar Yadav as Executive Sous Chef. Swapping the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean for the greens of the Serengeti, Chef Bir joins us from Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, where he has spent the last four years overseeing the Resort’s restaurants and working on board the Four Seasons Explorer.
While hailing from the spiritually famous region of Varanasi, in the north of India, Chef Bir actually spent most of his life in and around Mumbai, which is where he began working in the hospitality industry in some of the city’s biggest five star hotels. It was in 2008 that Chef Bir first joined Four Seasons as a chef in the main kitchen at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai.
As seen by his travels to date, Chef Bir is a keen adventurer and is very excited to enter this new chapter of his career in Serengeti, where he is looking to combine his passion for food with a discovery of a new culture and local traditions.
Married with two children, Chef Bir is looking forward to welcoming his family on their first safari experience in the Serengeti soon!More posts from July 2016
