Surrounded by some of the world’s most incredible nature among the vast Serengeti Plains, Four Seasons Safari Lodge is the perfect setting to disconnect and find restoration, with the new Kifalme Ritual harnessing one of Africa’s best known superfruits to deliver on whole body rejuvenation.
Named Kifalme, which is Swahili for ‘royal’, the ritual’s name stems from the incorporation of baobab oil throughout the treatment, which is rich in antioxidants as well as vitamins A,B and C to hydrate and tighten skin, while also improving elasticity. To perform the 90 minute ritual, two therapists work in harmony at opposing ends of the body, with one caring for the upper body and the head, and one tending to the legs and feet.
Beginning with a cleansing foot ritual, the new treatment proceeds with the application of hot baobab compresses to the legs and back, before the therapists continue with a 60 minute, four-handed body massage using baobab oil. The treatment concludes with a cleansing baobab oil facial and simultaneous reflexology of the feet.
“When our guests are on safari with us in the middle of the Serengeti, it is the power of nature that resonates with them most, and this is what we wanted to harness in this new treatment,” says Sajeesh Pazhayidath, Assistant Spa Manager. “Baobab fruits offer so many organic benefits, with the fruit already being offered as one of our welcome drinks at the Spa. By combining the benefits of this natural ingredient with the skills of two dedicated therapists, this ritual allows for complete relaxation and a sense of inner wellbeing.”
The 90 minute Kifalme Ritual is available at a price of 395 USD per person at the Lodge’s six suite Spa, where a choice of locally inspired massages and rituals are complemented by a full yoga program.More posts from October 2017
